About the Hall

Mottisfont & Dunbridge Village Hall offers a variety of well-equipped spaces suitable for a wide range of leisure, sport, and community activities. Whether you're planning a class, hosting an event, or running a regular group, our flexible facilities can be tailored to your needs.

When you hire the hall, you get full exclusive use of the Main Hall, the Committee Room, and tables and chairs to seat up to 50 guests.

The old school house

Walk through the door of Mottisfont Village Hall and you're stepping into a building that generations of local children called their school. The photographs lining the walls still tell that story – faces from across the decades, many of whom still live locally today.

Built over 100 years ago and sitting on a prominent position on Keepers Lane, the hall enjoys sweeping views over the Dun valley. It was renovated in the early 1990s and transformed into a fully functioning village hall – keeping its original bones but gaining a proper kitchen, accessible facilities, and the space to host just about anything.

The outbuilding backstory

The wooden outbuilding tucked behind the hall looks modest enough from the outside. But it has lived several lives. It started as the village scout hut in Mottisfont, and became the local Home Guard headquarters during the Second World War, it was then physically moved to the school site – where it was converted into a kitchen and dining area.

Today it provides storage for gazebos, outdoor tables, and everything else that makes the grounds work. A functional end to quite an unusual journey.

The halls grounds

The large field and patio attached to the hall are one of its shining features. Well maintained and fully fenced, the outdoor space has hosted school sports days, the village fete, campers, garden parties, and much more over the years.

Outdoor furniture and gazebos are stored on site and available to add to your booking. In dry weather, the field also doubles as overflow car parking – on top of the 15 on-site spaces.

If you're thinking marquee, outdoor games, or an event that overflows outside, this is the venue for it. You can add a selection of traditional and table games to your booking at checkout.

Pricing: £9.00-£22.00 per hour

The Main Hall comfortably accommodates up to 60 people in theatre-style seating, or around 40 seated at tables.

As part of your booking, you will have exclusive use of The Main Hall and the Committee Room. The Committee Room can hold about 12 people.

There are 50 comfortable matching chairs and 10 fold-up tables which can accommodate up to 8 people each. There are also 10 smaller fold-up card tables. Extra tables and chairs suitable for indoor or outside use are stored in the scout hut, if needed.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has oven, hob, kettles, hot plates, microwave, etc. There are place settings for 50 people including plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, cruet sets, etc.

There are male and female toilets and a separate disabled toilet. The whole hall is suitable for disabled access.

Outside there is a large patio area. Outside tables and chairs are stored on site and are available at no extra charge. The large field attached to the hall is well kept and is ideal for games or leisure activities.

Car parking is on site and is suitable for up to 15 cars. Cars can also be parked on the field.
